We will start with the invitations, always thematic as the guests can feel they will attend a great celebration at Hogwarts.

For Harry Potter fans, the arts, crafts and accessories are a critical part of their lifestyle, so we will try to recreate and bring many of those details that amazed all attendees.

Hogwarts Letters
As the first novel book "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" the letters sent to Potter that his uncle had been destroying were flying from the fireplace. To set up this, I used Vintage Design Paper DIN A4, Adhesive Seal Stickers and Blank Vintage Envelopes, you can find them on Amazon, Print at home with the names of guests or Harry's address under the stairs, then ties to a fish line to give a floating effect.

una fish line o nailon para que den un efecto de flotando.
Floating Candles
The floating candles of the Great Hall, in addition to giving a warm and magical atmosphere are perfect decoration to make one of the spells, “ Incendio” for turning on the lights with the remote control the girls had fun for a while!
I bought a 12-pack of these candles from Amazon.
Las velas flotantes del gran hall, además de dar un ambiente cálido y
mágico son una decoración perfecta para hacer uno de los hechizos,

Sorting Hat
You can find the sorting “hat” at stores like Target, Barnes and Noble, or Amazon. Display it in the front of the party so your party guests can see what house they belong too, and receive a scarf of the Gryffindor or Slytherin house.

Chamber of Secrets Mirror and Myrtle
I Googled a picture of Moaning Myrtle to print and put in the bathroom. I found in Pinterest many people had stuck her picture in the toilet to surprise people when they lift the lid, but no thanks! I wouldn’t even consider it, not going that way lol ...instead I placed it in the mirror and with a glass marker I wrote "The Chamber of Secrets" according to Book 2.

las personas cuando levantaran la tapa, pero no gracias después para quitarla

un marcador para vidrio escribí sobre "La Camara de los Secretos" según el
libro 2.
Professor Snape's Potions
I used different coloring food, wine for adults and a figurine of Professor Snape (R.I.P) to recreate the corner of the potions.

Don’t forget the iconic Hagrid’s Cake that was given to Harry for his birthday in the first book, my friend Paula V, prepared a delicious tres leches and we decorated the cake at the best Hagrid Style!!

Butterbeer Cake
Another cake not too common that I confess resulted delicious, was a craving and personalized order of Butterbeer Cake flavor that came to reality thanks to Mama Bear’s Little Bake Shop.

We also got some very special decorated butterbeer cupcakes and a chocolate sorting hat from Weekender Pastries by Shawnna Bennett.

DIY Magic Wands
We cannot have a Harry Potter party without a magic wand and better if you have the guests decorate it them selves. We used a wooden stick and then with a hot silicon gun you can recreate unique and stylish wooden shapes. Then you paint it. Each stick comes out different and personalized, basically they choose your own. You can find the kit in Amazon!.
No podemos tener una fiesta de Harry Potter sin una varita mágica y que mejor que lo hagan los mismos invitados. Se utiliza un palito o stick de madera y luego con una pistola de silicona caliente se crean diseños divertidos y únicos en los palos de madera. The Big Hit.... a Photo Booth
For our oldest daughter birthday we had a lot of pre-teen guests, so we got a Photo Booth Rental thanks to my friend Ofe Cox from Love Wedding & Events Photo Booth Rental in VIRGINIA... the girls took pictures, gifts, using filters, sharing them in their social networks and sending them to their phones, but the best memories came on printed picture cards.

After spending long hours on Pinterest finding ideas and thematic Harry Potter decoration I decided to take the easy route, particularly those easier to get, Slytherin Snakes using sour gummy worms, Ravenclaw was Bugles simulating witches claws, Hufflepuff snack with cheese puffs. We also made some flying brooms Nimbus 2000s, with peanut butter Reese Cups and small pretzel sticks.
Después de una larga búsqueda en pinterest de algunos snacks temáticos de Harry Potter me decidí por algunos fáciles de conseguir, Slytherin snakes usando gomitas de gusano acidas, Ravenclaw fueron Bugles simulando garras de brujas, Hufflepuff snack con unos cheese puffs. Tambien hice las escobas voladoras Nimbus 2000s, con chocolates de mantequilla de mani Reese Cups y pretzels sticks.

The girls took a ‘Mandrake” as a favor, I found this plant kit of peppermint, christmas tree and snow flower at Target. They were perfect to represent the roots that the students analyze in herbologist class at Hogwarts. The Mandrakes were powerful ingredients for potions and curing the petrification.
Como recuerdo, las niñas se llevaron una “Mandrake” conseguí este kit de plantas de peppermint, christmas tree y snow flower en Target. Fueron perfectas para representar las raíces que estudian en herbologia los alumnos de Hogwarts. Las Mandrakes eran ingredientes poderosos para pociones y capaces de curar la petrificación.

Decor
Finally you can go rustic, use golden stuff, books, brooms, lanterns, decorative trunk, and any magic decor available at home to inspire, and design a unique thematic Harry Potter.
